Abuse of Power

This case has been much discussed both online and offline, but after reading today’s article in the NYTimes, I thought it worth a mention here.

After spending nearly two years working with a similar program in Philadelphia, near Luzerne County, and seeing it done right, this article hit home for me more than I had anticipated.

Such greivous abuses of power are seemingly more common in the last few years, but one has to wonder whether the abuses themselves are occurring more often, or if they are only being reported more often.  With the combination of what’s going on with the financial markets, Gov. Blagoiavich, and now in Luzerne County, PA, it certainly gives one pause.
