A recently released project from the people over at the Tactical Technology Collective talks about how Web 2.0 communications technologies are revolutionizing the activism community around the world.
While these sort of technologies really are revolutionary for things like political activism, the potential for uses similar to this (connecting people around topics that matter to them) are enormous. Online communities are formed over the most popular things and the most mundane, obscure things. The point is that these technologies are facilitating people who want to find a like-minded community, something that we can all agree on and should endorse.
It will be very, very interesting to see how these sorts of technologies continue to change the way that humans act, interact, and live.
Power to the people.
